 The Hon. Thomas L. Ambro Fellowship Criteria for Selection of Summer Scholarship Recipient

 

The Delaware Bankruptcy American Inn of Court is awarding a $6,000 stipend to students who will have completed their first or second year of law school for a summer internship with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The candidate must apply for an eight-week internship rotating among each of the Judges of the Delaware Bankruptcy Court beginning June 2022.

The criteria for the successful candidate should include:

  1. an interest in practicing law in Delaware;
  2. a sense of ethics and high moral character;
  3. intelligence, honesty and a willingness to work hard;
  4. a pleasant personality and ability to work independently or as part of a team; and
  5. an interest in commercial or bankruptcy law.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants who meet the selection criteria should send an e-mail containing a letter of interest, their resume and a writing sample to:

Letters of interest, resumes and writing samples should be sent no later than March 4, 2022.

The Judges of the Delaware Bankruptcy Court will select the successful candidate in their sole discretion. Virtual interviews will be conducted the week of March 14, 2022. The recipient will be notified by March 21st. Half of the stipend amount will be provided to the recipient at the start of the fellowship and the remainder will be paid at the end of the fellowship.
