Notice Regarding Court Operations during COVID-19 Virus Outbreak

 

Clerk’s Office Intake Counter

Beginning August 31, 2020, the Clerk’s Office will open for in-person access Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The Clerk’s Office will remain open to the public through telephone and email access and the drop boxes located in the lobby of the courthouse. The Clerk’s Office can be reached at (302) 252-2900. 

 

Self-Represented Individuals Filing for Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy petitions for individuals may be filed in-person Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Clerk’s office Intake counter located at 824 N. Market Street, Third Floor, Suite 300, Wilmington, Delaware 19801.

Emergency bankruptcy petitions for individuals may also be filed electronically by accessing the following link. https://www.deb.uscourts.gov/covid-19

Cases emailed through this procedure will be opened and administered. 

Filing fees for individual bankruptcy petitions will be due at the time of filing.

Existing Individual cases with outstanding filing fees and/or uncured deficiencies

Previously extended deadlines for paying outstanding fees and uncured deficiencies in individual bankruptcy cases will now require payment with a 30-day noticing time.

All remote hearings going forward will be conducted entirely over Zoom and will require all participants to register in advance. The Zoom registration can be found on the hearing agenda after filing.  CourtCall will no longer be used to dial in unless otherwise specified by chambers.  Please visit the Court’s website for specific chambers procedures.
